Why Marijuana Should Be Legalized

There are many valid reasons why marijuana should be legalized in Pennsylvania. There has never been a death from overdose from marijuana and according to www.huffingtonpost.com over 40 percent of Americans have already confessed to smoking. Coffee is more addictive than THC and is safer than any other legalized drugs. This is because it has a very low risk or abuse. A few examples of very famous and successful people are Martha Stuart, Morgan Freeman, and Rush Limbaugh.

Marijuana has many benefits as well. It is a very safe and useful sleep aid. According to www.hightimes.com it could be taxed to support beneficial government programs. This website also says that the legalization of THC would reduce the flow of money from the American economy to international criminal gangs.

Marijuana being illegal is actually very expensive and dangerous too according to www.mjlegal.org. Blacks and hispanics are greatly effected with them being the most arrested racial groups because of the biased and prejudiced against minorities law enforcers. The prohibition of marijuana only makes people want it more and the people will fight until they get what they want. It is obviously clear that the legalization of THC would benefit us so much and would not be harmful.

Valedictory Final

Purple And Yellow

Green And Red

Blue And Orange

For my final project I really wanted to incorporate my dream of becoming an interior designer, therefore I used paint because color scheme is a big part of that. By picking out complementary paint colors, I dripped them onto a canvas and photographed the paints on there own and then with their complementing color. Although I wanted more of a splash in the photographs, I was really pleased with the results that I got. The colors looked nice against the white canvas and in then in photoshop I was able to further bring out the whites, making the paint look like it was almost floating. I liked doing this project and I think that the paints well described the interior design concept.

Valedictory progress check

To further explain my project, I am using small color droplets and pairing them with their complimentary colors, then mixing them together. My reason for doing this is because when I grow older I want to be an interior designer, and when painting walls it's important to know which colors look good together and which don't.

Research:
Complementary colors include purple and yellow, orange and blue, and yellow and red.

Final Shots For Surrealism

For the shots in the studio I tried portraying myself as shy and quite and for the secondary shots that i placed over top the studio shots, I used shots of nature to show that I like to be outside. For example, when I think of the beach I think a bright and happy place to be just like my actual personality people may not know. For heather we portrayed her as a layed back person who enjoys being in nature, which was also shown in the secondary photos. She said that her actual personality is just like what people see her personality as being,Although I struggled figuring out what photos to put where and how to blend them in my photos, I thought the final pieced turned out okay and I liked this abstraction.

Photos for surrealism

Photos that represent me

i chose these photos that represent me because my head is always "in the clouds" and I like to be outside and enjoy nature. These photos are very bright and colorful and I thought they described me well.

Rene Magritte & Surrealism

Surrealism is a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature that sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, for example by the irrational juxtaposition of images. The man wearing a bowler hat in Renes pieces was a motif repeated in many photos, the reason why Magritte used this man was unclear. Some believed it was a portrait of himself. It was important that Rene varied the images of the man in the bowler hat because each painting then told a different story left for the viewer to interpret. Surreal artist create strange worlds with their art expressing imaginative dreams and visions free from conscious rational control. Juxtaposition, altered scale, and language helped Magritte explore Surrealism because the juxtaposition made the art random, the language is left for the viewer to interpret, and altered scale was used to disorient viewers. The reason Rene may have covered the faces of  his works was mostly because of when he was a child his mother committed suicide and when she was recovered her face was covered. Magritte strived for realism and precision in his paintings because it allowed for viewers to focus on the subject of work instead of the techniques used to paint it.

Examples:

in both of these pieces juxtaposition is mainly used, these objects are random and are in areas you usually wouldn't find them. Altered scale is also used because the objects are enlarged and unproportional
